SPONSORSHIP LETTER SAMPLES
First of all, putting your daughter in a pageant is something that a parent does for the development of their Child's
character, self esteem, socialization skills and to gain a sense of accomplishment; much the same as putting them on a
sports team or giving them dance lessons.  You wouldn't ask your neighbor to pay for dance lessons, nor would
you ask them for money to purchase a uniform, bat, ball or glove. This is something that you do for your child
willingly.  The pageant always has encouraged the parents of a competitor to seek support from within the family and
save on their own to provide for the contestants needs. In 2007 we even gave the contestants a bank so they could
begin saving for future pageants. The best sponsors are you, your family and friends. Contributions from relatives
both in the Barstow area and out of town can add up to giving you a great deal of assistance with the entry fees.
If you need to look elsewhere, it is suggested that you start with businesses that you frequent and they recognize you as
a loyal customer, and clubs of which you are a contributing member.    Potential sponsors are willing to support you if
you are supporting their business or club.

The following is a suggestion for a potential sponsor's letter in the Children's divisions.
Dear Potential Sponsor:

My daughter is interested in entering this year's Barstow Children's Pageant and we are
asking for your assistance.

As a sponsor you will receive your name listed under her photograph in the Pageant Program, your
name will be announced while she is on stage and should she win a title, I will make sure that your
name is imprinted on her sash which she will be wearing at all community service activities which she
will participate in throughout the year.  As an added bonus, when the pageant is shown on the local
TV channel during the holidays, your name will once again be announced.

I believe that much of the problems we have with our young people today are because they lack self
confidence self esteem and determination; these traits need to be developed at a young age.   I feel
that pageants are a way to teach children the importance of developing these strong characteristics
and life skills and the significance of becoming involved in their community.  The following is a list of
some of the benefits of pageant competition:  overcome shyness, build self esteem, increase self
confidence, develop a positive self image, and gain a sense of accomplishment, to name a few.

The Miss Barstow Pageant is a non-profit corporation and a proven community support
organization that offers numerous opportunities for community service and character development.
Also as part of their prize packages they offer Scholarship Savings Bonds for the children and
College Scholarships for Miss Barstow competitors.

Thank you for your kind consideration of this request.

Sincerely,

The following is a suggestion for a potential sponsor's letter in the
Teen & Miss divisions.

Dear Potential Sponsor:

I am very interested in entering the Miss Barstow Pageant and I am asking for your assistance.

(Give personal information:  Name, Age, Grade in School, GPA, Activities you are involved in and
reason for wanting to be Teen or Miss Barstow.)

As a sponsor you will receive your name listed under my photograph in the Pageant Program Book
and the display ad for the pageant in the newspaper, your name will also be announced every time I
appear on stage the night of the pageant.  Should I win a title, I will make sure that your name is
imprinted on my sash which I will be wearing to all community service activities which I will
participate in throughout the year.  As an added bonus, when the pageant is shown on the local TV
channel during the holidays, your name will once again be announced.

I believe that many of the issues facing today's teenagers are a result of low self esteem, and a
lack of self confidence and determination.   I feel that by competing in the pageant I will enhance my
interview skills, become more poised, learn effective communication and develop a more positive
self image.  I want to become a leader and to serve as a representative for the young people of my
community.  And should I be honored with winning the main title or be one of the princesses, I will
value the opportunity to learn more about my community and become involved in community service
projects.

The Miss Barstow Pageant is a non-profit corporation and a proven community support
organization that offers numerous opportunities for community service and character development.
Also as part of their prize packages they offer Scholarship Savings Bonds and College Scholarships
for Miss Barstow competitors.

Thank you for your kind consideration of this request.
